About Erasmus+

What is an Erasmus+ project, key action 2

Erasmus+ is a European Union (EU) program that supports education, training, youth, and sports activities. Within the Erasmus+ program, Key Action 2 (KA2) focuses on cooperation and innovation in the field of education and training. Specifically, KA2 encompasses various types of projects, including Strategic Partnerships and Knowledge Alliances.

A KA2 Strategic Partnership in the field of school education is a collaborative initiative that brings together educational institutions, organizations, or stakeholders from different countries within the EU. These projects aim to foster cooperation and exchange of best practices among schools, teachers, and other relevant entities to improve the quality of education and promote innovation in school settings. They involve multiple partners from different countries who work together on common educational goals. These projects are designed to stimulate innovation and creativity in school education. And for this reason they involve the development of new teaching methods, curriculum materials, or approaches to address current challenges in education. The main objective is to contribute to the continuous development and modernization of education systems in Europe and beyond.

I-Teen Project

The Erasmus+ project "I-TEEN"

Is a strategic partnership project aimed at developing user-friendly learning materials to enhance educational skills in teachers and support disadvantaged secondary school students. The primary focus of these materials is to leverage information and communication technologies (ICTs) to foster the development of fundamental skills necessary for personal fulfillment and active citizenship in society. The project aligns with the key competences outlined in the Reference Framework of Key Competences (2007), which are as follows:

  • Communication in foreign languages
  • Mathematical competence and basic competences in science and technology
  • Digital competence
  • Learning to learn
  • Social and civic competences
  • Sense of initiative and entrepreneurship
  • Cultural awareness and expression

The "I-TEEN" project is designed to benefit two main target groups

Disadvantaged Students (Secondary School):

These students face various challenges that may hinder their educational progress, such as physical disabilities, cultural barriers, behavioral issues, or other socio-economic factors. The project aims to create learning materials that are inclusive and adaptable to meet the diverse needs of these students.

Teachers:

The project recognizes the pivotal role of teachers in delivering quality education and fostering the development of key competences in students. Therefore, it aims to provide teachers with the necessary tools and training to effectively use the developed learning materials in their classrooms.

Objectives and Activities

Development of ICT-based Learning Materials:
  •  The project partners will collaborate to create accessible and engaging learning materials that incorporate ICT tools to address the key competences identified
    in the Reference Framework.
Professional Development for Teachers:
  • To ensure effective utilization of the learning materials, the project will offer training and professional development opportunities for teachers. This training will focus on integrating ICT into their teaching practices and adapting instruction to meet the needs of disadvantaged students.
Piloting and Evaluation:
  • The developed materials will be tested in real educational settings to assess their impact on both students and teachers. Feedback and data will be collected to refine the materials and improve their effectiveness.
Dissemination and Sustainability:
  • The project will promote the widespread adoption of the materials and ensure their long-term sustainability by sharing results, best practices, and guidelines with the broader educational community.
By addressing the specific needs of disadvantaged students and providing support
and resources for teachers, the “I-TEEN” project aims to contribute to the development of key competences and enhance educational opportunities for all, fostering active and aware citizenship in society through the effective use of ICT and innovative teaching materials.
